Position Overview
Kidz R Us Learning Academy is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and experienced Lead Two-Year-Old Teacher to join our team of early childhood professionals. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about toddler development and is committed to creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment that supports social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for two-year-olds
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
- Establish consistent routines to support transitions, independence, and security
- Conduct daily health and safety checks and follow all diapering/toileting protocols
- Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and regular updates
- Track and document each child’s development through observation and assessment
- Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and support staff
- Guide and redirect behavior using positive discipline strategies
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, incidents, and developmental goals
- Ensure compliance with New Mexico licensing regulations and internal policies
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass a criminal background check
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a 45-hour entry-level course in child growth and development (or willingness to complete within 6 months)
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDC (Child Development Certificate) with Infant/Toddler focus or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum 1 year experience in a licensed childcare setting, ideally with toddlers
- Experience with curriculum planning and classroom leadership
Certifications:
- Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before hire)
- Food Handler’s Card (if required by state regulations)
